Kai Moana

We had a wonderful immersion day investigating Kaimoana. We went to Kaiti Beach to look at the rock pools and cook mussels on the beach and did a beach clean-up. Our work with the House of Science Sea and Me kit helped us to understand what we were looking at. After that, we went to Gisborne Fisheries to see my good friend Salve Zame. He showed us through their factory. We got to see all sorts of fish that they catch, including crayfish pools, and got a first-hand experience with the sea ice. A great day indeed!

 

Week 1 Immersion

Our focus this year is Kai. Kai can be seen and interpreted in so many ways. This week we visited Cedenco to understand processed kai. Jennifer's mum, Carla helped us to plan this day. She is the General Manager of Cedenco.
